This year's
Girl Scouts camping adventure (June 1-2) took place at
Saddle Up Ranch, a rustic campsite in a large Canyon in Hemet, near
Temecula, about 110 miles (177 km) south from Los Angeles. Although I am not a true camper at heart, Lily and I had so much fun because there were so many animals at the farm who loved all the attention! The girls spent hours at the farm, carrying around chickens, feeding the horses, playing with the cats and dogs. We even did a session of
Goat Yoga! OMG, that was hilarious!!! The next day, the girls had their
Court of Awards in the morning (a ceremony where they received all the badges they had earned over the past 6 months) and went
horseback riding in the afternoon. The girls earned their horseback riding badge at
Green Acres Ranch, another beautiful ranch in the region. Lily and her friend Lillian were the "Sandwich Sisters" and together with Veronica (Lillian's mom) and me, we prepared the Sunday lunch for the girls (make your own sandwich and salad buffet). I like the concept where you are responsible for one meal, and you get to put your butt at the table for all the other meals :-) We had a great time, but I was also happy to be back home on Sunday night (and see Marcus and Ennio again who had had a great "boys"-weekend) and be able to shower off all the dirt, dust and goat kisses ;-)
