Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving from the Long Beach Aquarium!

Lily to the rescue!

Not afraid of the tigers... just napping away!

Lunch in Bottega Louie in Downtown LA

Gewicht: ongeveer 13,4 kg (1,2 kilogram erbij, 80e percentiel.
Hoofdomtrek: 49,5 cm (anderhalve cm erbij)

Length: 34 5/8 inches (+ 5/8 inches, 70th percentile)
Weight: 29 pounds 8 oz (+ 2 pound 10 oz, 80th percentile)
Head circumference: 19 1/2 inches

Happy 2nd Birthday, Lily!!!

Lily on her birthday chair!

Can't believe my pumpkin is turning 2 today! Seems like she was born yesterday! We had lots of celebrations over the weekend (one party on Saturday and one on Sunday!), we had her special day in Disneyland last week, so today we will take it easy... Just hanging out at home with mommy and daddy (who's working, but at least he can take his breaks with us) and oma and opa! And of course, there are tons of toys to play with.

Here are some pictures of our birthday festivities.

Mommy, Lily, Woefie and birthday crown

There had to be a Minnie Mouse balloon!!!

Getting some appetizers before everyone arrives

The birthday cake. Lily loved hearing everyone sing "Happy Birthday" to her. Her face lit up, and she looked at us like "Really, you're singing for me??? Waw!" Blowing out her Elmo candles was less successful. Mommy had to help a lot!

Summer and Lily doing one of their favorite activities: turning on and off the lights

The day after, playing with my birthday presents!

Thank you everyone for the beautiful presents Lily got!

Disneyland rocks!!!

Lily and I on the Dumbo ride

My parents are in town this week so we thought it would be fun to go to Disneyland for Lily's 2nd birthday. Even though she's only turning 2 next week, we decided to go last Wednesday (less crowds, we knew it was going to be a sunny day, no stress (my parents are leaving right after her birthday), etc...) I thought maybe Lily was going to be a little too young to enjoy it really, but oh boy, was I wrong... SHE LOVED IT, LOVED IT, LOVED IT!!!

Marcus, Lily and Pluto

She was especially obsessed with Minnie Mouse. We saw Minnie and Pluto when we entered the park, and the whole day she kept saying "I want to see Mouse"!

We went on lots of rides (the ones for little ones, and there are a LOT), like the Mad Tea Party (ronddraaiende theekopjes), Dumbo the Flying Elephant, the Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters (she's seen Toy Story and knows Woody ("woo-wie") and Buzz!), the Astro Orbitor, the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage, King Arthur Carrousel, Pinocchio's Daring Journey, the Disneyland Railroad, the Storybook Land Canal Boats, too much to mention it all.

Flying high with daddy in the Astro Orbitor rockets

Amazed by all the special effects in the Buzz Lightyear ride

Shooting away Buzz-style

More flying, this time in Dumbo the Elephant!

With Oma on the Storybook Land Canal Boats

After all the excitement of the rides, and a yummy lunch at Tomorrowland Terrace (while enjoying the Star Wars Jedi Training Academy show), Lily took a loooong nap in her stroller.

Marcus, my mom and dad, and Lily in front of Sleeping Beauty's Castle

My dad and Marcus took the opportunity, while Lily was asleep, to enjoy some of the "grown-up" rides, such as the Indiana Jones Adventure (according to them, a great ride), the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and the Matterhorn Bobsleds.

After Lily woke up, we strolled to ToonTown, where Lily couldn't believe her eyes when she saw Minnie again!!! She got sooooo excited!!! Minnie kept walking away and Lily was running behind her all over ToonTown, it was so funny to watch!

Stalking Minnie Mouse

When Minnie finally stopped to give hugs to the kids and have pictures taken, Lily was keeping her distance at first, but then slowly came closer to Minnie, whispering "Hi Mouse" and finally giving her a big hug! Sooooo cute to see!

Obsessed with Minnie!

Minnie wants to see Lily

Slowly approaching Minnie, while saying "Hi Mouse"

Giving Minnie a big hug!

Minnie had to go then, so Lily said "Bye Mouse" and had the biggest smile on her face!!! It totally made her (and my) day! We still went to Mickey's House, and had a family pic taken with Mickey.

Family picture with Mickey!

At night, we watched the Parade, and then drove home (only a 45 minute drive, I am actually surprised we live so close by to Disneyland!) It was a beautiful day, one we will remember for a long time!!!

Almost two!!!
