More pics of Lily
Lily walking like a pro... and watering the plants in the patio (or at least making an attempt to...) I'm working my way backwards. In my previous post (Saint Patrick's Day) I posted some photos of today. Now you're getting some of the past few days and weekend.
Yesterday, March 16th, we celebrated Marcus's 36th birthday! Unfortunately, we are both very busy right now, and had to work all day, but we did have a nice dinner at Cafe Beaujolais, an authentic French restaurant in our neighborhood. It was our first time there and we brought Lily (who wasn't in the best of spirits after a long day of playing at the daycare, even though it was early, around 5 PM) but the service still was amazing. The waiters (all French) were extremely friendly and helpful (they kept on bringing fresh bread, which Lily happily ate OR threw around...). The food was great and the dessert (profiteroles) VERY yummy. The owner started chatting to us, said he was from Vichy, and was very surprised that I had actually been there (when I was 20 or so, I did a summer language course in Vichy). Apparently not very many people visit Vichy! The restaurant also seems to have a nice winebar. Unfortunately, we couldn't check it out as it was getting around 7:00 and Lily really wanted her bed. But, we will definitely come back to this place, I can really recommend it!
Last Saturday, we went to see Barbara and Peter and their little treasure Martha, now 2.5 weeks old! Martha slept for most of the afternoon. We walked to a park nearby and Lily had fun on the swing and slide.
On Sunday, we made a little excursion to Occidental College. This is a liberal arts college in our neighborhood where President Obama used to study! The college has a beautiful campus and we enjoyed walking the grounds.
Yes, spring is finally here! After all the rain and cold temperatures (at least for California), it is now heating up again. The past few days, it even felt like summer!
At Lily's daycare, the kids get to play outside. It looks like lots of fun!
Just one more thing to mention, is that, unfortunately, Lily has been struck by another ear infection. She's been on antibiotics since last week (and still has to take them until Friday). She had a rough couple of nights last week, but seems to be doing better since last weekend. Let's hope she's going to be 100% A-OK soon!
Happy Saint Patrick's Day!
Yes, I know, Saint Patrick's Day is a typical Irish holiday, and before I moved to the States, I had no idea what was celebrated on March 17... but here (in the US), well, it is almost a national holiday! Everyone dresses in some kind of green, otherwise... you get pinched!
So, here is Lily in her green outfit of today:
Lately, she's become obsessed with cleaning supplies!!! She loves to carry the broom around the patio.
She has a very cute green polka-dot dress too, but the dress was a bit too fancy to wear to daycare... so I opted for just the green cardigan.
We brought back home a happy Lily, un-pinched!

February festivities!
't Is alweer 1 maart vandaag!
Shopping at Crate & Barrel.
