In the late afternoon on Christmas Day, we left for
Palm Springs. Last year, on December 26, we went
tubing on Mt. Baldy and that was so much fun that we wanted to play in the snow again this year! To make the experience a little different, we decided to make
Mt. San Jacinto our destination. Oma Eva had never been in Palm Springs and was excited to see something new! We drove about 2.5 hours and arrived at the
Renaissance Hotel around 6 PM. The hotel was awesome: modern and very tastefully decorated. Not too expensive either, but that may be because we booked Christmas Day (I noticed that the rate for the day after was double the price!). We freshened up in our rooms and then headed to downtown to find a place to eat. No luck there, as half of the restaurants were closed on Christmas Day and the other half had wait times over an hour (we didn't have a reservation anywhere)! So we went back to the hotel and had dinner at
DATE, the hotel's restaurant. Service was slow because again, most of the staff was off-duty enjoying X-mas, but we didn't mind. The girl serving our table was very friendly and apologetic, and the kids were fine, so it was all good!

Next morning: breakfast and rushing to the
Palm Springs Aerial Tramway! We made it just in time for our 10:30 tram ride!

In the rotating gondola, we saw some friends who happened to spend the holidays in Palm Springs as well.

Up on the mountain, there really wasn't much snow! Hardly enough to use the sled, but we did anyway - on the ice, scary (for me!) sometimes!

A rare family picture! Thank you, Oma Eva!
Oma Eva made a cool selfie of her and Lily:
In spite of the lack of snow, we had fun!
Bye bye Palm Springs, see you next time!
