We love having friends over for brunch! Today, Easter Sunday, seemed
like a perfect day for a big brunch buffet! I made tomato-vegetable soup
(Jeroen Meus'
"tomaat-groentesoep met basilicumolie")
and 3 quiches (a vegetarian "tomato-basil-mozzarella"; one "broccoli
and salmon"; and one with pancetta/portabella mushroom/red and yellow
bell peppers).
We had bread from the
Pain Quotidien, a
selection of strawberry jam, chocolate paste and speculoos paste,
cheese, fruit, and of course... pastries from
Porto's Bakery and lots and lots of easter treats (no shortage of chocolate eggs and bunnies in this household for the next few weeks, I think!)
Lily was elated that her friends Karl, Nicky and Valentina were coming over. Valentina brought her Cinderella dress (which she had just gotten from the "binky fairy" for having given up her binky
(tut) to give to the babies in the world). Exactly the same dress as the one Lily got from Santa Claus last December, so it didn't take too long before we had 2 princesses running through our house :-) Ennio took a long nap in his room, and once awake, enjoyed being held by every woman in the room (such a ladies killer already!) Lucy read stories to him, which he especially seemed to enjoy!
Here are some photos of a fun afternoon!
