Today, we celebrated
Pamela's birthday! Pamela is Ennio's godmother and she adores him. Ennio loves hanging out with her (we can tell from the many smiles he throws at her!) We had brunch at
Faux Pas bistro, near the
Farmers Market on Third and Fairfax. Great place with a nice outdoor patio! After a hectic morning, it was nice to relax and have a mojito (Pamela had a mango/jalapeño mimosa - they're famous for their fancy-flavored mimosas)!
After our food, we went to
The Grove to stroll around a bit. Ennio napped, but when he woke up, he wanted to get out and get moving! No, he's not walking yet, but he knows how to crawl anywhere he wants to be. He especially liked the water fountains (what kid does not like water?)

| Looking very handsome in the shirt he got from Oma Cecile! I puchased the shoes over the weekend at this cute little store in our neighborhood. Got a size 6 (Euro size 22) and they fit nicely on Saturday, but today I already had trouble putting them on. My boy is growing way too fast!!! |

Now that he is almost 15 months (in 10 days) it's time for a little recap of what he can do (or at least, is trying very hard to do!)
-
Babbling: Ennio is very vocal. He babbles and laughs a lot. When he drops stuff on the floor, he exclaims "o-oh". He says "hi" and "bye-bye" and waves when he says this. When we tell him "Bravo, Ennio" then he claps in his hands.Very cute!
- He knows the meaning of
"No! Nein! Nee!" because he usually grins and does it anyway (f.i. crawling to the oven and pulling himself up). He is testing us already!
-
Eating with a spoon: we still need a lot of practice! The food usually end up everywhere except in his mouth!

Crawling, pulling himself up, standing by himself (without holding on to anything - only for a few seconds, though). He is not really trying to walk yet, since he's crawling so well. I don't expect him to walk anytime soon. Both Marcus and I were 16 months when we first walked and Lily was 15 1/2 months. Ennio took his time to sit independently and later, to start crawling, and that is fine. He'll walk soon enough! By the way, he can
climb the stairs already! At night, when he has his jammies on, we let him climb up the stairs to his bedroom (we're right behind him). He loves it! (We do have safety gates at the top and bottom of the stairs, so he can't get on them by himself)

Sleep pattern: he naps well (much better than his sister when she was his age). Lately, he seems to be transitioning to one nap a day. When he's had a long morning nap, he only naps briefly in the afternoon, or skips his nap entirely (but then needs an early nighttime routine). I think he
could sleep well at night, if it weren't for his sister who is such a difficult sleeper and often calls me in the middle of the night
(for water - because she's scared - because she's cold - because she's too hot - because the night light went out - the list is endless!!! ). He doesn't always wake up (they share a room), but often enough to completely disturb
my sleep and make me feel like a zombie the next day! Aaargh! Don't get me wrong, I love my little Lily and baby Ennio, but sometimes I can't wait till they're older and I can get my sleep back!!! (although I realize there will probably be other worries then)
Speaking of sleep, they're finally both down
(it took a while - Lily had a nosebleed tonight, so I had to change the entire bed - Ennio woke up of course and jumped in his bed for an hour before he finally settled down again), time for me to wrap up here and get some decent zzz's too!
