Christmas 2017

I didn't feel well for the most part of December so I missed out on many activities, but this is what the kids were up to with Marcus and Oma Eva.

* Winter Celebration with Santa Claus at Carlin G. Smith Rec Center (December 16) *

* Building a gingerbread house with Oma Eva *

* Putting the treats out for Santa Claus and his reindeer on Christmas Eve *

* Christmas morning *

Lily got an LOL dolls surprise ball and Ennio a scooter. He also got the Peppa Pig school (he's crazy about all things Peppa Pig) and Lily got a skincare set from Sephora (they had asked for this in letters to Santa). The skincare set is pretty cool because she hasn't used it on herself but has given ME a facial in our bathroom (now called: "Lily's Beauty Farm"). I like it 😉 The kids also got some books: Peppa Pig and the Muddy Puddles for Ennio, and the Phoebe and her Unicorn graphic novel series by Dana Simpson, and the Lonely Planet Kids Travel and Cities books. They also got some goodies from Germany (thank you, Mia!). In the afternoon, we went ice skating at Pershing Square.

* Ice skating on Pershing Square on Christmas Day *

* December 26th Party *
with Brandon, Andrea and Liam (9 months), Pamela and Jacob (14 months), and Kathryn and Karl. Fortunately, there's catering (I ordered on-line from Le Pain Quotidien) because there is no way I could have entertained a party!!! I kept my distance from everyone and survived the day!

* Visit of the Petersen Automotive Museum (December 28) *

This is very close to my work, so I joined Marcus, Eva, Lily and Ennio after work. We had never been to this museum and are so glad we finally did! It's really worth it! After the museum (it was open until 8 PM) we had dinner at the Grove in Italian restaurant La Piazza, which was a nice way of saying goodbye to Oma Eva. She flew back to Stuttgart the next day. Unfortunately, I felt pretty crappy again the next day, so I left work early by the end of the day to see a doctor. Hopefully I'll start feeling better soon. I have had enough of this and can't wait to be healthy again!

Merry Christmas!

Book Fair!

Hij koos Peppa Pig and the Great Vacation.

1. Peppa Pig and the Great Vacation
2. by Neville Astley and
3. Mark Baker
4. Setting: vacation home, forest, beach
5. Characters: Peppa, George, Mummy and Daddy Pig
6. Problem: getting to the beach from the house
7. Solution: use the spinner and follow the bird tracks. If you land a muddy puddle, you must jump back to the last puddle. The one who gets to the beach first, wins!

Christmas is coming...

Lily loved putting up the Christmas tree and making a fine home for Stella!
